A gray armadillo wearing the loudest shell in Texas.
Armadillos are already strange little creatures, so this one leaned all the way in. Her head, legs, and long snout are felted in heathered gray wool, and her shell is built from individually rolled bands of seafoam, lavender, raspberry, and lemon, each one felted down separately and attached one at a time. That banded texture is the fun part. Each stripe is rolled into a rope, laid across the back, and needled at the edges so it sits raised and defined instead of flattening out. Her tail carries the stripes right to the tip. She is built over a wire armature, so her four short legs are posable and she stands steady on her own. 100% wool, needle felted by hand.
Approx. 7 inches long with tail.
